Jacqui Smith resigned as the United Kingdom's Home Secretary, after receiving notification from Savage's law firm regarding a defamation lawsuit. Now, correspondence released under Freedom of Information legislation suggests the banning was based on a political calculation made at the highest level of Government.

According to the UK Daily Mail one message, sent by an unidentified Home Office official on November 27 last year, said that, "I can understand that disclosure of the decision would help provide a balance of types of exclusion cases." The documents uncovered include a draft recommendation, marked 'Restricted', saying: "We will want to ensure that the names disclosed reflect the broad range of cases and are not all Islamic extremists."

A further email confirmed the decision to include Savage on the list of least wanted individuals was approved at the highest level of Government, saying: "Both the FS [Foreign Secretary] and PM [Prime Minister] are firmly behind listing and naming such people."

One unnamed civil servant, counseled caution, saying: "I think we could be accused of duplicity in naming him' - without explaining why - and even added that 'the fact that he is homophobic does help."

Savage continues to be banned from the U.K. The Press Office of the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. confirmed in an interview last week that, Michael Savage, still remains "persona non grata" in Great Britain. Savage has warned his listeners that neither he nor his attorneys have received any official indication that the ban had been lifted. Savage said, "I won't believe it until they send a letter to me confirming it."

A weekend newspaper report alleging the lifting of the ban appears to have been inaccurate. The press representative indicated that while no visa is required of Americans visiting England, Michael Savage, would be detained by immigration authorities if he attempted to enter the country, and refused entry. The British Home Office informed the embassy office that there has been no change in Michael Savage's ban.

The British Government's new Home Secretary, Alan Johnson, acted quickly after he took office by withdrawing the list of the "least wanted" people in the U.K. that Talk Radio Network's Michael Savage was included on however this did not lift the ban. Alan Johnson called the ban a terrible blunder and told the London Daily Mail he would scrap the policy of maintaining such enemies' lists. Savage said that he was "stunned by this sudden sign of sanity in the U.K. government."

This announcement follows the former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith admitting to Total Politics Magazine she was not up to being Home Secretary of the U.K. Smith said, "When I became Home Secretary I'd never run a major organization. I hope I did a good job but if I did it was more by luck than by any kind of development of skills." She continues by saying "I think we should have been better trained."

Savage hired the Olswang Law Firm to initiate libel proceedings, and, is seeking 100,000 pounds in damages. Savage also wants an apology, and a retraction of his name from the list published by Smith. Savage said, "This is an orchestrated campaign by this socialist, fascist government of hers, trying to turn me into something I am not," he added, "I spent my entire life building my reputation, and I will not have this government drag my name through the mud. I want my name cleared."

Before resigning, Smith indicated that she would fight the suit with a spokesperson stating, "As the Home Secretary has already said, he was excluded (banned) for engaging in unacceptable behavior by making comments that might provoke others to serious criminal acts and foster hatred that might lead to inter-community violence. Any legal proceedings would be robustly defended; we stand by our decision to exclude this individual. Coming to the UK is a privilege that we refuse to extend to those who abuse our standards and values to undermine our way of life."

A weekend newspaper report alleging the lifting of the ban appears to have been inaccurate. The press representative indicated that while no visa is required of Americans visiting England, Michael Savage, would be detained by immigration authorities if he attempted to enter the country, and refused entry. The British Home Office informed the embassy office that there has been no change in Michael Savage's ban.

The British Government's new Home Secretary, Alan Johnson, acted quickly after he took office by withdrawing the list of the "least wanted" people in the U.K. that Talk Radio Network's Michael Savage was included however this did not lift the ban. Alan Johnson called the ban a terrible blunder and told the London Daily Mail he would scrap the policy of maintaining such enemies' lists. Savage said that he was "stunned by this sudden sign of sanity in the U.K. government."

This announcement follows the former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith admitting to Total Politics Magazine she was not up to being Home Secretary of the U.K. Smith said, "When I became Home Secretary I'd never run a major organization. I hope I did a good job but if I did it was more by luck than by any kind of development of skills." She continues by saying "I think we should have been better trained."

Jacqui Smith resigned as the United Kingdom's Home Secretary, one day after receiving notification from Savage's law firm regarding a defamation lawsuit. Savage filed a defamation lawsuit against U.K. Home Secretary Jacqui Smith for placing him on a list of those barred from entering the United Kingdom. On May 5, 2009 the UK Home Secretary, Jacqui Smith, published a list of 16 individuals that would be banned from entering the UK. Michael Savage was included on that list, which contained names of radical Muslim clerics, convicted criminals and Russian skinheads

Savage hired the Olswang Law Firm to initiate libel proceeding, and, is seeking 100,000 pounds in damages. Savage also wants an apology, and a retraction of his name from the list published by Smith. Savage said, "This is an orchestrated campaign by this socialist, fascist government of hers, trying to turn me into something I am not," he added, "I spent my entire life building my reputation, and I will not have this government drag my name through the mud. I want my name cleared."

Before resigning, Smith indicated that she would fight the suit with a spokesperson stating, "As the Home Secretary has already said, he was excluded (banned) for engaging in unacceptable behavior by making comments that might provoke others to serious criminal acts and foster hatred that might lead to inter-community violence. Any legal proceedings would be robustly defended; we stand by our decision to exclude this individual. Coming to the UK is a privilege that we refuse to extend to those who abuse our standards and values to undermine our way of life." On July 13, America's Morning News featured Liz Cheney.  After responding to the breaking information regarding her father, Vice President Dick Cheney, and his involvement with CIA intelligence briefings, Liz Cheney announced that she plans to run for office.  National news organizations from network TV to major newspapers to the most popular news websites picked the story up from America's Morning News. On July 10, Democratic Congressman Joe Sestak of Pennsylvania's 7th District came on America's Morning News to announce his candidacy against Senator Arlen Specter for the Pennsylvania Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate. Also on July 10, Nikki Haley, who is running for the Republican nomination for Governor in South Carolina appeared on America's Morning News.  Haley, who is currently serving in the South Carolina House of Representatives, was the first Indian American Republican state legislator in the United States. America's Morning News was the first national interview for Haley since news broke of Governor Mark Sanford's affair.

America's Morning News featured several important former government officials on recent shows who have officially come out against the Obama Administration and in support of the coup in Honduras including: Ambassador Roger Noriega former assistant secretary of state for Western Hemisphere affairs (Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean) and a former U.S. ambassador to the Organization of American States; Ambassador Jaime Daremblum, who served as Ambassador of Costa Rica to the United States from 1998 to 2004; and Ambassador Jose S. Sorzano who was the Deputy U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations from 1983 to 1985. 

On July 2, Sabina Amidi, an Iranian woman who was in Tehran during the recent rioting, was a featured guest on America's Morning News to provide information about the state of affairs in Iran.  While in Iran, she secretly sent her work to the Jerusalem Post under the Iranian regime's radar. During the show she broke the news that six Mousavi supporters reportedly have been hanged!

On July 10, Iason Athanasiadis, a Greek journalist who was freed by the Iranian government, appeared on America's Morning News.  Athanasiadis, who had been reporting for The Washington Times from inside Iran, was arrested more than two weeks ago.  This was his first international interview relaying his experience.  On July 9, America's Morning News featured a live interview with ranking House Republican Congressman on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Pete Hoekstra of the 2nd District of Michigan, who broke the news that North Korea is probably behind the recent cyber attacks on the Pentagon and the White House.

On July 9, Republican House Minority Whip, Congressman Eric Cantor of the 7th District of Virginia also turned up on America's Morning News.  Congressman Cantor blasted Vice President Biden, saying that he misread the stimulus package not the economy.

Also on July 9, Senator Jim Demint of South Carolina appeared for a second time on America's Morning News, where he called President Obama a true "Socialist President," creating a media firestorm.

On May 5, 2009 the UK Home Secretary published a list of 16 individuals that would be banned from entering the UK. Michael Savage was included on that list, which contained names of radical Muslim clerics, convicted criminals and Russian skinheads.

"Controversial daily radio host. Considered to be engaging in unacceptable behavior by seeking to provoke others to serious criminal acts and fostering hatred which might lead to inter-community violence."

During the broadcast Doyle opened by saying, "If someone lies to Congress should they not be brought in front of a committee to talk about their perjury?" Jerry continues by saying, "Which is what they did with regards to steroids in baseball. We had to know about the palpable mass on Roger Clemens buttocks but Paulson lied to Congress. Where is the committee hearing on that guy?"

Congressman Shadegg responded by saying, "It's a great question."

Shadegg continued speaking until Doyle interjected, "Let me stop you there Congressman. 'It's a great question.' Can I have an answer?" Doyle went on to say, "Why doesn't someone that sits on a committee, haul Paulson's ass in front of the American people and say 'Who got the money? Why did you lie to Congress?' Anybody else in this country perjures themselves we know what happens."

Congressman Shadegg answered by saying, "You're right; we should." Shadegg went on to explain that he was not on the Financial Services Committee but was a member of the Commerce Committee chaired by Henry Waxman (D-CA). Shadegg agreed to make the demand to the Chairman of the Commerce Committee that Paulson be held accountable. Shadegg said, "Maybe he (Waxman) would like to rail against Hank Paulson. I'd like to know where that money went. I'd like to know what he says got done with it."

During The Michael Savage Show Savage explained that the Fairness Doctrine is "aimed only at Michael Savage, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and, in other words, the top five," and is intended to silence such conservative voices on radio.

"Whatever form its reinstatement may take, any limitation on the free speech rights of Michael Savage will result in an immediate legal action," the law center said. "The U. S. Supreme Court would most likely find any reinstatement of the Doctrine unconstitutional."

"With the stink of public corruption blanketing Washington, with our elected officials passing the single largest spending bill in our nation's history without even reading or debating it, with the increasing nationalization of our financial institutions, with almost dictatorial control of Congress by one political party, and with increasing signs we are becoming a socialistic country, Americans need more dynamic talk show hosts like Savage, not less," Thompson said.

"A regulation of speech motivated by nothing more than a desire to silence political opposition on controversial issues of public interest is the purest example of a law abridging the freedom of speech," said Thompson. Attorney General Brown came out in favor of the Fairness Doctrine while appearing on The Michael Savage Show Friday night. While discussing the return of the Fairness Doctrine Attorney General Jerry Brown said, "A little control over the media would be a good thing."

Savage replied that, as a conservative, he is in the minority in the media, and that many in Brown's Democratic Party would like to see him taken off the air via the Fairness Doctrine. Brown responded by stating that the current situation of having talk radio dominated by conservatives allows for "one-sided presentations."

Savage then noted that former President Bill Clinton, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Sen. Debby Stabenow have called for re-establishment of the doctrine, adding that all three "want conservative voices constrained in the media." Savage questioned Brown on what side he would be on regarding the issue.

Brown said, "I think we need a robust range of opinions on the air." He continued by saying that "a little state control wouldn't hurt anybody" and said that in warning against the Fairness Doctrine, Savage was "paranoid."

Savage retorted with the fact that The Fairness Doctrine, is "aimed only at Michael Savage, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and, in other words, the top five," and is intended to silence such conservative voices on radio.

Savage continued the debate by discussing the issue of illegal immigration and its effect on California. Savage said, "Here we have a state that's going broke as many states are in the Union. We have a budget deficit of $41 billion by the best estimate - no one knows how much. In all the talk about balancing the budget from Arnold Schwarzenegger's so-called Republicans; Why has there not been one discussion about cutting off services to non-citizens, even in the emergency rooms? That would save $10 to $15 million dollars." He asked Attorney General Brown "Why is it that the government seems to think that the illegal aliens have more rights than the legal citizens?"

Brown responded by saying, "Well no one says they have more rights." He continued on by insisting that the children of illegals are not "responsible for what their parents did...the problem is the national law. When someone is here in an auto accident bleeding to death you've got to take care of them. That's just basic humanity."

Savage confirmed "I can understand that no one would argue with basic humanity." However Savage shared his personal experiences; that he had been in emergency rooms three times in the last year and that he had seen "crowds of illegal aliens being treated not for auto accidents, but they are taking their children in for the common cold and the flu. It's costing the state billions and billions of dollars. And yet in all this rhetoric, not one governor has said that the people cannot afford it. We have to cut back somewhere - how about cutting back with regards to benefits for illegal aliens? I'm bringing up hospitals, but there are many avenues where [benefits for] illegal aliens could be curtailed in some way. The citizens are being told that they have to cut back. How about the non-citizens?"

Brown agreed that all citizens are going to have to cut back, but then asked: "What are you going to do, round up several million people and take them down to the border and drop them off?"

Savage responded by saying, "You don't have to get that draconian." Savage made a suggestion that the state could put a California Highway Patrol Officer in every emergency room and ask people for proof of citizenship. He continues by saying, "We can't afford to treat you anymore. Do you have any idea how many hospitals are going bankrupt in this country because of the burden of treating illegal aliens, as required by federal law?"

Savage addresses Attorney General Brown regarding running for Governor of California by saying, "I would think you as Governor if you wanted to run and become Governor you would have to look into these things." Towards the end of the interview Savage applauded Brown for coming on the show by saying, "It's very brave of you and very dignified to come on to The Savage Nation."

As a prelude to the conventions, Ingraham had the honor of an exclusive interview with presumptive Republican Presidential Nominee John McCain on Wednesday's program.

Ingraham brought up the fact that Senator McCain is now five points ahead of Senator Barack Obama in the latest Rueters/Zogby poll. Ingraham also mentioned that she believed that the increase in the latest poll was due to Senator McCain articulating more conservative views including a pro-life stance.

She asked her national radio audience to email any questions they had for Senator McCain. The overwhelming majority of questions Ingraham received were regarding his decision about a vice-presidential running mate; the question everyone has been asking. McCain replied saying, "I have not made the decision and we are in the process."

Ingraham then brought up all the competition from abroad and how the United States is doing economically. When she asked McCain about the reports that China's economy will be larger than the U.S. in the year 2020 and referred to the Midwest as the Rust Belt, McCain replied, " I grow a little weary, and frankly the people in Michigan, Ohio, Arizona and others are a little weary of people saying, WE CAN'T. We can't drill off shore, we can't build nuclear power plants, we can't build hybrid cars, we can't make use of natural gas, and we can't utilize clean coal technology. AMERICA CAN...that is the history of our country... America can...must, and will."

Senator John McCain stated that, "The United States is the most innovative, the most productive and the biggest exporter...America's best days are ahead of us." Senator McCain went on to say that, "The Twenty-first Century will be the American Century as well."

Ingraham asked McCain if he ever answered a question with the phrase, " That's above my pay grade," McCain replied, "No, no, and not especially anyone who aspires to be the president of the United States...I don't know any pay grade higher than that." This was in reference to a recent remark made by Senator Obama in a nationally televised interview.

Chessani was originally charged after Time magazine accused the Marines of "massacring" civilians in the Anbar Province firefight, and Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., later publicly accused the Marine officers of a "cover-up."

Col. Steven Folsom dismissed charges against Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani after finding that a four-star general overseeing the case was improperly influenced by an investigator probing the November 2005 shootings by a Marine squad in Haditha. Chessani was the highest-ranking officer to face a combat-related court-martial since the Vietnam War.

Folsom agreed with Savage and his listeners when he said, "Unlawful command influence is the mortal enemy of military justice. In order to restore the public confidence, we need to take it back. We need to turn the clock back."

The charges were dismissed without prejudice, meaning they can be re-filed, but Folsom barred Marine Forces Central Command from any future involvement in the case. Only one of the marines out of the eight originally charged in the case is still facing prosecution; in the biggest U.S. criminal case involving Iraqi deaths to come out of this war.

After a rare courtroom appearance by Gen. James Mattis, a high ranking officer, Folsom made his ruling to address the judge's initial finding that there was evidence of unlawful command influence in the case.

Despite agreements signed by the Government of Sudan, the genocide process continues in both Northern and Southern Sudan. Hundreds of thousands of displaced Sudanese are in danger of dying this rainy season (May-September) because of continuing violence, and the lack of food, shelter, seed, clean water and medicine. Tens of thousands of Black Sudanese remain enslaved in Darfur and neighboring Kordofan.

The relief effort to Darfur and Sudan is scheduled for March 8th through March 19th. Individuals participating in delivering the "Sacks of Hope" include members of CSI-USA, Rusty Humphries with Talk Radio Network, and Ellen Ratner with TALKERS Magazine among others in the radio industry. The group will be traveling around the countries of Kenya and Sudan and visiting refugee camps in the region. Rusty Humphries will be speaking with the people and interviewing those people who have been under attack and who's lives have been effected by this tragedy.

Rusty Humphries says he is participating in the trip to Darfur, "To help understand the situation in the region better and to be able to explain to my audience what is going on there as well as to investigate my hypothesis that this area is a undeclared front in the War On Terror." Upon my return, I intend to hold a fundraiser on the radio to help the people we have met in these horrible conditions."

Humphries reports that the influence of extremists in Brussels, the capital of the European Union, is pervasive and troubling. "The Muslim extremist threat is far worse than the American media reports," says Humphries. "There's absolutely nothing on the news about this and Americans will be shocked when this story reaches the antique, head-in-the-sand, media."

AFGHANISTAN

The details of this trip, to date, have been kept secret due to safety concerns. Humphries and General Craddock inspected four separate provinces and war zones. Afghanistan, one of the key regions in the fight against terror, continues to face the threat of a Taliban resurgence. The Taliban, like Al Qaeda, are Muslim fundamentalists and a key support group to Osama bin Laden and his followers. Afghanistan remains a major producer of opium and there is an active attempt to cut off the drug trade as a source of income for terrorists. Additionally, Humphries visited a town in the NE province of Afghanistan called Feyzabad. The location is so remote; it is the only area the Taliban did not gain control. The poverty and lifestyle is that out of the 1600's.

London was Humphries final stop and, incredibly, his life and freedom was in jeopardy there, as well. As Humphries has reported in the past, London is a significant hotbed of extremist activities and terrorism plots. Humphries reports that the influence of extremists in Brussels, the capital of the European Union, is pervasive and troubling.
